All of my toons (aka, characters) are on the Ebon Hawk server, so remember to look them up if you're on that server. Also feel free to let me know the name, class, and faction of your toons, and we can totally play together sometime! You can let me know either below in the comment box or shoot me an e-mail at edessacarrick@gmail.com.
See you in SWTOR! =D
Your opening is hilarious! :) I tried to download the first 15 levels trail but my internet is so slow that I had to give up after a week. The subscription is crazy over priced, I don't play MMOs because of the price. Your not the only person how is crazy cheap, I'm exactly the same way. :) And when I heard about SWTOR free-to-play, I did the same thing too.
ReplyDeleteI just wished that BioWare made another KOTOR (one of my favorite games ever)single player game though. BioWare makes awesome RPGs, I just ordered the Mass Effect trillogy and can't wait to it play too.
Not sure when I'm going to buy the game (hopefully around Christmas) but I will be sure to play on your server.
Does the game have voice chat? Great podcast, thank you for all the information about SWTOR. :D
-James
lol! Thanks, James! =D
DeleteWhat I did is I bought a physical copy of SWTOR at GameStop and installed it and all of the patches and updates, and then created an account to do the Trial. That way I didn't have to worry about my Internet connection going out during download, and I was gonna install the game eventually any way so might as well get it over with, right? =) The basic installation only took maybe ten or fifteen minutes (there's three discs, so that's why it takes longer than installing most other games), but it took about five or six hours total to download all of the patches and updates. I'm guessing that the new update - 1.5, which comes out tomorrow - is gonna take quite a while to download, especially since the developers are shutting the whole game down for about six or seven hours tomorrow morning to install the update. XP
*highfive* Let me know when you're on and we can totally play together, if you want! =D
As far as I know, you can only voice chat while in Operations or Flashpoints, which are group PvEs, and in order to voice chat you have to have downloaded Ventrilo or TeamSpeak or some other program like that. I've never used any of those, but I think Buruk would actually be a better person to ask. He's been playing much longer than I have. =)
I will just buy the physical copy too then. Thank you for telling me about that, very helpful. :) I am still not 100% sure if it will run on my cheap Windows 7 laptop, but I think it should though.

I have a cheaper HP Windows 7 laptop that meets a little above the minimum specs for the game, and it runs just fine. Actually another reason why I decided to do the Free Trial was so I could see how well the game would run on my laptop. I can't run it at maximum specs, but the game still looks and plays awesomely at reccomended graphics. As long as your computer meets the minimum system requirements, it should work just fine. =)
Delete"And remember...if someone tells you your lightsaber style is reminiscent of Luke Skywalker's in the original trilogy...YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG."
ReplyDelete^^That made my day.
For those of you who are getting an f2p account, if you're interested in joining a guild, send me a message in game. My character's name is Buruk. Edessa and I are planning to create a guild, but we need at least four people to make one at the Guild Registrar.
Whoops. I meant to answer James's question:
ReplyDeleteThere is no built in way for you to voice chat in SWTOR. However, most people do use third party applications (like Ventrilo, TeamSpeak, or Mumble) designed for gaming use. I know that Ventrilo is free, and actually I think most of the software is free, but you can pay to upgrade it in various ways. There are people who use Skype to voicechat, but since it wasn't designed for gaming, it takes up more resources than the other applications. Obviously if you use a third party application, then you can voicechat at any time, however, it's most commonly used during Operations, Flashpoints, or Warzones which are team oriented.
Thank you for answering my question about it Buruk.
